| Customer Reviews: ONE (1) Month LATE - after all the snow melted! March 20, 2010 N&W Train Man (Roanoke area of VA USA) ONE (1) Month LATE - after all the snow melted! Needless to say I needed when I ordered in the first snow storm (of three snow storms). Took about a month to receive it.
It look nice and I ordered it because of the curved handle, which should save this man's back, when and if it snows ago.
Easy Glider March 4, 2010 Salvatore Russo (Linden, Tennessee) After years of straight handles and metal scoops I finally wised up, what a difference. Now if I could just get it to go by itself......
Did not perform well in heavy snows February 23, 2010 Stuart Mallory (Washington, DC USA) I gave this shovel 2 stars because it did not stand up well as advertised as a "Heavy Duty" snow shovel. This snow shovel should only be purchased for light duty work such as a foot and half or less. The shovel's primary drawback is the poorly designed housing that holds the shovel and handle together. The housing is a spring operated, push button assembly that holds the shovel in place when the holes on the shovel head line up with the spring operated buttons on the handle. If you put too much weight on the shovel, you will get slippage at this joint and the shovel head will rotate on the handle causing spillage or uncomfortable shifting in weight.
Additionally, while the shovel is advertised as ergonomic, the ergonomic bend is not signigicant enough to provide any demonstrable difference than shoveling with a straight handle. The shovels that have a handle that look like an "S" provide the most dramatic ergonomic effect. Again, I was hard on my review because the shovel was adverstised as "Heavy Duty." It did not stand up to its adverstisement. However, It will probably serve me well in the next several winters because I live in a region that generally does not have severe winters. This is definitely a light duty tool.
Good purchase in a snowy year January 31, 2010 Phil Hostetter (Sterling, VA United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I like virtually everything about this product -- the easily removable handle, the light weight, the strength, and the ergonomic design. A metal strip along the bottom of the shovel's edge would have been nice, but I have the feeling it will last many years even without that. Another great value from Amazon.
Not really heavy duty January 28, 2010 Cookbook Gal 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
While it is ergonomic, it is very light weight. It also has a plastic lip on the blade, something I couldn't tell from the photo or description, so it hasn't been very effective for shoveling the sidewalk and the driveway. It has been very good to use on the wood deck, because the metal shovels would gouge the wood and this one doesn't.
